Hi, I’m Kel Maisenbacher.
I am a Trans Nonbinary Licensed Clinical Social Worker.
With over 10 years of experience working with LGBTQ+ folks, I began my work at the Department of Veterans Affairs providing therapy to Veterans with a focus on LGBTQ+ Veterans. I am formally trained in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT). In addition, I am level 1 certified in Coherence Therapy. With Coherence Therapy, I incorporate elements of internal family systems therapy and somatic therapy into my practice. I have worked with individuals who have experienced trauma, are struggling with anxiety, depression, ADHD, suicidal ideation or bipolar disorder.
From 2018-2025, I was a subject matter expert and consultant in suicide prevention at the National VA Office of Suicide Prevention. During my time at the National VA Office of Suicide Prevention, I worked on several initiatives to enhance care provided to LGBTQ+ Veterans struggling with suicide.
I began my private practice in 2017, part time, focusing my work on LGBTQ+ individuals who have experienced trauma, those who are navigating identity or relationships (friendships, intimate relationships and familial relationships), or folks who have a desire to have a greater connection to themselves, others, their career or other areas in their life. in 2025, I opened my practice full-time working with adults and LGBTQ+ individuals.
